Client: “What’s my username?”
Me: “It’s your first name, a space and then your last name.”
Client: ”How am I supposed to remember that?”
I was kind of embarrassed today at Walmart. I was running around town all day, the Walmart I went to didn’t have what I wanted. I wanted to get some new pajamas because the ones I have are wearing out. I guess I didn’t really pay attention to see if there was a price tag on the top, so I just went to the register to pay. The cashier couldn’t find the price and was asking me if I knew what it was. I didn’t, because I was honestly really tired and it was like 110 degrees outside, I just wanted to get home. A long line was forming behind me, and everyone was looking at the Tweety Bird pajamas. The cashier was calling someone over for help, I’m thinking oh geez, just find the price and let me get home. I was just so embarrassed. Finally she just typed the number on the tag and found the price.
I was able to see my upcoming schedule, these are core classes I have to take before I start on the web design part.

The confirmation we’ve all been waiting for! YES!
I started my first day of classes today. They seem like they will be a lot of work. I’m struggling a bit with the participation part, we are supposed to respond with comments on some discussions each day. One of mine was marked “unsubstantial”, I guess I didn’t write a long enough response or I went off topic. Just to clarify, I go to school online. I’m trying to participate whenever possible because it counts as half of my grade. My one instructor seems pretty tough. I haven’t been in school for so long, and this whole college thing is pretty new to me.
Whew. I just got home from traffic school. What a long day. I got up at 6:30 this morning, left at 7. I had to be there at 7:45, but I got lost on the way and couldn’t find the building. I pulled over and called the school to ask if I could still get into class because I would be late. The woman on the phone was quite rude, I said I’m new to the area and I’m lost. She asked me to stay on the phone with her while I was driving, I wouldn’t do that, I don’t have a hands-free device. She just kept barking at me so I just hung up and turned the GPS back on. There was no need for her attitude at all.
Anyway, I arrived about 20 minutes late, and the teacher says I have to take out the trash at the end of the day for being late. Everyone laughed and I was really embarrassed. I found out later she was just joking. She was a pretty funny and easygoing teacher. We had to introduce ourselves first, we had to give our name, what our dream job is, why we were here, and pet peeves on the road. Since I got stuck up front, I had to go first. I hate speaking in front of a class, but I did it. Basically the rest of the day she just went over state laws, shared experiences, watched videos, and took quizzes (she didn’t make us fill them out ourselves, we answered them all as a class). We got a break in the morning around 10, an hour lunch break around 11:45, and two shorter breaks later in the day. It was really long and kind of boring sometimes, but it wasn’t as terrible as I was expecting. Everyone joked around a lot, and it was really funny when this really old guy would randomly fall asleep and start snoring during class. I’m glad it’s over with.
My mom is completely flipping out because her electronic cigarettes stopped working. She’s slamming doors and everything, and is now running to the store to get a carton. I wish she would quit. I quit smoking years ago, it CAN be done. I actually made an effort though.
I have to get up around 6:30 tomorrow morning to get ready for traffic school. I have to be there at 7:45, and won’t get to go home until 5. I hope it’s not going to be too bad, I can’t wait to just get it over with.
I’ve been on the phone pretty much all day with people calling from school making sure I understand everything and am prepared. I was told I would have to take Algebra at some point, maybe next year. I had to take that in high school, I really struggled with it. I can’t remember how to do it now, but I can get tutoring if I need it. My first block of classes don’t look like they’ll be that hard, I’m looking forward to starting on Monday.
We had another crazy storm this evening, the winds were so strong it looked like a hurricane. A huge tree branch landed in the neighbors driveway, I’m glad one didn’t fall in ours or it would have hit my car.
I registered and paid for my traffic class on Sunday from 8-5. I got a corrective action letter from the MVD ordering me to contact a school within 15 days. It’s gonna be a long day, but I wanted to get it over with before I start school, which would be the following day.
After Googling around I found out what core classes I’m going to have to take before I start the web design part. They look kind of interesting.
I don’t write in it often, at least not as much as I do here. I keep it for personal family things I can’t post in public or whatever. Add me if you like.
